If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now (even if we don't speak often or have never met), please post a comment with a completely made up, fictional memory of you and me.
It can be anything you want - good or bad - but it has to be fake.
When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your blog and see what your friends come up with...
The main aim of this blog is to interpret the Christian Order in the light of current affairs, philosophy, literature and the arts -- and vice versa. So it's about ideas. Social, political and religious comment. Links, notes on people, places, events, books, movies etc. And mainly a place where I can post half-baked ideas in the hope that other people, or the passing of time, will help me to bake them.

Memories, or not, as the case may be

I remember when we were boys growing up in the Alaska wilderness. I remember the time a group of us snuck out at midnight to fish for salmon as they swam upstream to spawn. You caught the biggest one, as I recall. Of course, when the bears showed up we all dropped the fish and ran.
Once we were over the next hill and out of danger we turned around to watch the bears eat our salmon. We were sure surprised when the aliens spaceship appeared and beamed up the fish and the bears. We didn't fish at that spot again for the rest of the summer.
Bruce,
I won't ever go back there!
We were trekking through the forests of North America when we encountered the legendary Sasquatch.
Fortunately it was friendly, and we sat around the campfire that night exchanging stories. The Sasquatch was surprisingly well-versed in the novels of Robertson Davies.
